Welcome to the Scobee Library
November Library Displays
This month we are celebrating Native American Heritage Month with a display of Indigenous authors and stories. More is to come soon ;)
All year, students will be greeted by our New Books display.
Each month, we will feature a nonfiction subject to showcase books students may not have checked out on their own. Not only will this help students expand their reading palate, they will learn where in the library they can find the genre of books based on the Dewey Decimal system.
Library Events
On Wednesday, September 25, Scobee took open house to a new level with its first Scobee Family Literacy Night. Bibliotech, the Bexar County digital library, joined Mrs. Iltis in the library to offer families the chance to sign up for library cards.
The Scobee Middle School Book Club held it first meetings on Thursday, September 12 during lunches. To encourage students to read genres they may not have considered before, we are a no-stress book club. Each month, students will share the books they are reading with no spoilers.
For their first visit to the library, students completed a Scobee Library Road Trip as part of the library orientation. Students explored the different sections and answered questions about the importance of reading.
