Mrs. Iltis took members of the Scobee Book Club to LibraryPalooza hosted at Brandeis High School. At this free event, students sat in sessions where authors talked about their writing and then signed books!
We hosted our first Scholastic Book Fair in five years, and it was a huge success! Thank you to all of the teachers to took time out of class to bring their students. Get ready for our next Book Fair taking place April 3-10.
Before the holiday break, Mrs. Iltis thew a Hot Cocoa Party for the library top 15 patrons. These students have checked out as many as 30 books so far this school year!
On Wednesday, September 25, Scobee took open house to a new level with its first Scobee Family Literacy Night. Bibliotech, the Bexar County digital library, joined Mrs. Iltis in the library to offer families the chance to sign up for library cards.
The Scobee Middle School Book Club held it first meetings on Thursday, September 12 during lunches. To encourage students to read genres they may not have considered before, we are a no-stress book club. Each month, students will share the books they are reading with no spoilers.
For their first visit to the library, students completed a Scobee Library Road Trip as part of the library orientation. Students explored the different sections and answered questions about the importance of reading.
